The BMX bike market is soaring with business today, as the ride of the newest innovations in BMX bikes is taking the media by surprise. BMX bikes are well-known as you can spot them on every street corner, bike ramp parks, and in suburban neighborhoods. They are also the infamous bikes used on the X games that are so publicized on televisions. However, BMX bikes are unlike any other bikes that are manufactured, because they differ immensely.

BMX bikes originated four decades ago in the 1960’s. It was when children started to mortar their dad’s and icons racing around on motorcycles with mud and dirt paths. Kids wanted to simulate that, but the average bike couldn’t tromp through the mud and endure the weathered elements. This is what made it possible to invent the trickster bike that would be durable enough to supersede other manual bikes that were being made then.

What makes a BMX different than a normal bike utilized for riding? It basically boils down to almost every feature of the bike such as wheels, structure of frame, gears, and the brakes.  BMX bike frames are constructed of lightweight metals and components in order to be lifted, and catapult in the air, without the added weight deterring this element. It can also maintain speeds, because of its structure in races that involve BMX bikes. These bikes are made of well-quality materials that endure stress that is associated with racing and tricks.

The wheels and tires that are put on BMX bikes can vary, however the tires are made with different treads, and contain textures to grip services, and prevent slides on treacherous tracks and scales. They are like the ones fixed on mountain bikes, however minute in size in comparison.

The other features that make BMX bikes so different are the fact that they only contain one gear they have to have exact steering mechanisms to be able to perform tricks and stunts specifically and precisely. Gears can be a great detriment in this aspect of bikes.

So you see the ins and outs of bmx bikes and why they are swooning the public, and how they are different from ordinary bikes. They can be adventurous, dangerous and loads of fun as long as the individual uses the proper safety measures to safeguard themselves from being injured.
